Floor Loading, Power and Rigging — the Real Requirements
Floor loading and load-spreading
Bangkok venue floors have published load limits — typically 3,000–5,000 kg/sqm depending on the hall. Machinery exceeding the limit requires load-spreading platforms that distribute the point load across a larger floor contact area. The critical calculation is machine weight divided by platform contact area, not the machine's own contact footprint. This must be submitted as part of the stand technical documentation and approved before the equipment moves into position.
Three-phase power
Standard exhibition circuits are single-phase. Manufacturing equipment running motors — pumps, CNC demonstrations, conveyor systems — may require three-phase supply (380V, 50Hz in Thailand). Three-phase booking must be made with the organiser at stand registration and cannot be substituted from a standard socket. Discovering the requirement at build-up means the equipment cannot demonstrate.
Rigging and crane access
Equipment too large to transport assembled requires in-hall rigging during build-up. BITEC and IMPACT provide overhead crane capacity in some halls, with a maximum rated load that must be confirmed before equipment is specified for in-hall assembly. The crane access window is typically limited to the first day or two of build-up, before other exhibitors' materials arrive in the hall. Missing the window means the equipment cannot be installed.
Safety barriers and demonstration areas
Live machinery demonstrations during show hours require physical separation between operating equipment and visiting buyers. Barrier design is both a safety requirement and a display decision — barriers should direct visitors to a defined observation position with clear sight lines to the operating equipment, not simply exclude them from the machinery footprint.
Vehicle display logistics
Vehicles displayed on stands require access planning for entry into the hall and a display platform sized to the vehicle's dimensions. Static vehicle displays on a raised platform improve sight lines from the aisle. Self-propelled vehicle entry requires organiser clearance and a specific access window within the build-up schedule — typically outside normal exhibitor build-up hours.

What We Build for Manufacturing Exhibitors
Manufacturing and automotive stands built by Pixelmate Exhibition Co., Ltd. at Bangkok shows include load-spreading platforms for heavy machinery, three-phase power management integrated into the stand electrical plan, and demonstration observation areas with defined viewing positions and safety barriers. The Glaston glass technology stand at Manufacturing Expo — visible in the portfolio — is one example from this sector, featuring a clean island configuration designed to give a large glass processing display piece clear sight lines from multiple aisle approaches. Stand builds for this sector require earlier technical documentation than most categories: load calculations, power specification and rigging requirements all need to be in place before the stand design is finalised.

Load-spreading not calculated
Machinery positioned on an exhibition floor without load-spreading where it exceeds the venue's rated limit is flagged by the venue structural team. In practice this means the equipment cannot be moved into position until the issue is resolved — which requires additional engineering time the build-up window does not allow.
Three-phase not booked at registration
Three-phase supply is a separate booking item that cannot be added later from the standard power allocation. Equipment that requires three-phase and arrives at a stand with single-phase supply cannot demonstrate during the show.
Crane window missed
Heavy equipment that requires in-hall crane lifting must be timed to the crane access window at the start of build-up. Equipment that arrives after the window has closed cannot be lifted into position and cannot be installed as designed.
Safety barrier treatment as an afterthought
Barriers added at build-up without design coordination look like a safety requirement rather than part of the stand. Integrating barrier design into the stand architecture — making barriers a defined element of the observation area — maintains the stand's visual quality while meeting the safety requirement.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the floor loading limit at BITEC and IMPACT?
- BITEC and IMPACT both have hall-specific load limits, typically in the range of 3,000–5,000 kg/sqm. The specific limit for the hall and event must be confirmed with the organiser, as it varies by hall and can be further restricted by the event organiser. Load-spreading platforms are designed and submitted as part of the stand technical documentation.
- Can machinery run live during the show hours at Bangkok venues?
- Yes, subject to the organiser's safety rules and the machinery's compliance with the venue's electrical and noise requirements. Live demonstrations require prior approval, safety barrier provision and confirmation that the power supply matches the equipment's load specification.
- How much lead time do manufacturing stand projects need?
- Manufacturing stands with machinery display, load-spreading platforms and structural submissions need early planning, and we confirm the schedule with your quote. The technical documentation — load calculations, structural submission, power specifications — needs to be resolved before fabrication begins, and this takes time.
- Can Pixelmate Exhibition Co., Ltd. coordinate crane access on behalf of the exhibitor?
- Yes. Crane access booking at Bangkok venues is managed as part of the project scope. The crane window, weight capacity and rigging sequence are all coordinated with the venue ahead of build-up.
