Exhibition Stands for Food and Beverage Brands

A food and beverage stand at Bangkok shows is doing several things simultaneously: demonstrating product, managing sampling traffic, housing refrigeration or live cooking equipment, and giving buyers somewhere to sit and talk business. The physical demands are heavier than most sectors — water and drainage access, cold-chain power allocation, food-safe surface specification — and visitor flow is a design problem, not an afterthought, because high footfall is the commercial objective.
Physical and commercial requirements

What Food and Beverage Stands Need — Physically

Water access and drainage

Tasting and live preparation require water. Bangkok venues offer pit connections at specific stand positions — water must be booked at stand registration, not after the floor plan is set. Pit positions are limited and allocated early. Stands without a pit connection use self-contained supply and waste tanks built into the counter structure, sized to the full show duration, not a single day.

Cold-chain power allocation

Refrigerated display units and cold rooms draw dedicated high-current circuits. Power must be specified at stand space registration. Adding refrigeration load later risks an insufficient circuit or a cable run that conflicts with the stand layout. Exhibitors who discover the power shortfall at build-up have no practical remedy during the move-in window.

Food-safe surface finishes

Surfaces in the sampling zone must be non-porous, sanitisable and stain-resistant. High-gloss counter finishes show scratching and product spill by the end of day one. Satin and semi-matte powder-coat holds up through four show days. Grout lines, exposed timber edges and rough fabric on serving surfaces are hygiene risks that should not appear on a sampling counter.

Tasting counter design and throughput

Counter depth, queue separation and liquid waste management determine how many visitors can sample per hour. A counter without a defined return point for used cups or a separation between the queue and the serving position creates a choke point. Staff access behind the counter for restocking and waste management must be designed in — not resolved on-site.

Hot food requirements

Open flame is not permitted at BITEC, IMPACT or QSNCC. Induction and electric equipment replace gas for all live food preparation. Heat lamps and sous vide equipment draw power and generate heat that affects overhead canopy materials. Equipment type and power draw should be confirmed at the design brief stage, not after the stand layout is finalised.

What We Build for Food and Beverage

Food and beverage stands built by Pixelmate Exhibition Co., Ltd. at Bangkok shows include tasting counters with integrated drainage and waste collection, refrigerated display units on dedicated power circuits, and hygiene-rated spray-finished surfaces across all sampling contact areas. Most projects in this sector divide the stand between a high-traffic sampling area accessible from the aisle and a quieter seated buyer meeting position — a split that requires careful aisle-face planning so both zones draw visitors without one blocking the other. Stands at THAIFEX and Fi Asia have included cold room integration, live cooking preparation areas and large-format island configurations with meeting capacity for multiple concurrent buyer conversations. Case studies from this sector are being compiled for the portfolio.

Sector-specific risks

Where Food and Beverage Stands Fail

Power booked too late

Cold-chain circuits must be part of the original power booking. Refrigeration added after initial registration often lands on a lower-priority circuit or a position requiring a long cable run that conflicts with the stand layout and looks untidy.

Sampling counter overflow

A counter designed for twenty samples per hour producing sixty visitors per hour creates a queue that spills into the aisle, blocks neighbouring stands and reduces the exhibitor's own sampling rate. Counter throughput should be calculated at the design stage against the show's expected footfall, not estimated.

Water pit not available at the stand position

Water pit availability is hall- and position-specific. Exhibitors who assume water is available anywhere on the floor and discover otherwise after the floor plan is fixed face either a self-contained tank retrofit or a stand layout change.

Hygiene surfaces specified incorrectly

Sampling spills on high-gloss surfaces show within hours. A stand that looks worn by day two reads as negligent to the buyers who arrive on days three and four.

Industry questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Bangkok venues offer water pit connections for sampling?
BITEC, IMPACT and QSNCC all provide water pit connections in selected halls, but availability at a specific stand position depends on the event floor plan. Confirmation must be obtained and the connection booked at the time of stand space registration — pit positions are allocated on a first-come basis and are not available at every location.
How far in advance does refrigeration power need to be specified?
Cold-chain power requirements must be included in the power booking at stand registration. Adding refrigeration load later risks being assigned an inadequate circuit. The power booking form issued by the organiser should reflect the actual equipment load, not a round-number estimate.
Is live cooking with gas permitted at Bangkok exhibition venues?
Open flame is not permitted at BITEC, IMPACT or QSNCC. All live food preparation uses induction or electric equipment. Stands planning live cooking demonstrations should confirm equipment requirements and the organiser's food preparation rules at the design brief stage, before finalising the counter and power plan.
How is liquid waste managed at a stand without a water pit connection?
Self-contained waste tanks built into the counter structure are the standard approach. Tank volume is calculated against expected daily sampling throughput over the full show duration. Emptying during show hours is not always practical, so the tank must cover the full show day without requiring mid-day service.
