Exhibition Stands for Beauty and Cosmetics Exhibitors
What Beauty and Cosmetics Stands Require
Colour-accurate lighting
Cosmetics products are evaluated under light. The colour rendering index (CRI) of the light source determines how accurately a product's colour appears to the viewer. Exhibition hall lighting is typically CRI 70–80. Stand lighting for colour cosmetics and skincare display should use LED sources at CRI 90 or above. Colour temperature selection — daylight (5,000–6,500K) for colour cosmetics, warm white (3,000–4,000K) for skincare and fragrance — is a product evaluation decision, not an aesthetic preference.
Tester display and product access
Beauty products are touch products. Counter height, surface material and product layout determine the quality of the testing experience. Counters at 850–900 mm are standard for standing tester positions. Surfaces must be easy to sanitise between applications and resistant to product staining. The tester counter position relative to the aisle determines whether buyers stop to test or walk past.
Mirror positioning
Mirrors on beauty stands are functional, not decorative. Full-height mirrors for fragrance and skincare, angled mirrors for colour cosmetics, edge-lit mirrors for makeup evaluation. Mirror positioning relative to counter height and the light source determines whether the product reads accurately under evaluation — a mirror that places the buyer's face in shadow undermines the purpose of the tester.
Brand wall treatment
The back wall is the primary brand statement at a beauty stand — it is what press photography, buyer social content and show floor reconnaissance capture. Backlit tension fabric panels produce the colour saturation and brand presence from aisle distance that printed rigid panels cannot match. The wall needs to be designed for the photography angle that buyers and press will use, not just for direct frontal viewing.
Premium surface finishes
Lacquered, high-gloss, stone-look and metallic surfaces communicate brand positioning in a sector where material signals quality. Counter surface material — acrylic, glass, marble effect, opal backlit panel — communicates the brand tier as clearly as the graphic. The finish specification should be consistent with how the brand presents in its own retail environment.

What We Build for Beauty Brands
Beauty and cosmetics stands built by Pixelmate Exhibition Co., Ltd. at Bangkok shows are characterised by backlit brand walls, high-CRI tester lighting systems, mirror-integrated display counters and premium lacquered or gloss surface finishes. At in-cosmetics Asia at BITEC, projects from this sector include ingredient supplier stands with lightbox back walls and product browser counters, and finished product brand stands with tester counters, brand wall graphics and private buyer consultation positions. The Radiant and OLI stands from in-cosmetics Asia are both visible in the portfolio. Detailed case studies with constraint and build data are being compiled.

Lighting colour temperature wrong for the product
Warm white light selected for colour cosmetics makes foundations and blushers appear warmer than they are on application. A buyer who tests under warm light and then sees the product under daylight loses confidence in the brand's colour accuracy. Lighting specification should match the product category, not be applied uniformly across the stand.
Tester counter too narrow or at the wrong height
A counter at 750 mm with the buyer having to lean forward to test a product is an uncomfortable experience that reduces dwell time. Tester counter height and depth are the most frequently under-specified elements on beauty stands.
Brand wall not prepared for backlight output
Artwork prepared for flat print submitted unchanged for a lightbox panel produces incorrect colour saturation under backlight. For brand walls with specific colour accuracy requirements — where the brand's primary colour must match the print standard — backlit artwork preparation requires an additional calibration step.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What CRI should lighting be on a beauty stand?
- CRI 90 or above for all tester and product display positions. Some high-precision colour cosmetics display benefits from CRI 95+. The specific CRI should be confirmed against the product category — skincare, colour cosmetics and fragrance each have different optimal lighting conditions.
- Can Pixelmate Exhibition Co., Ltd. supply custom display cases for product display at beauty stands?
- Yes. Custom display cases — acrylic, glass-front, open-shelf, drawer systems — are built as part of the stand fabrication at the Lam Luk Ka workshop. Dimensions and material specification are confirmed at the design stage.
- How are product testers managed hygienically across a four-day show?
- Tester management is an operational matter for the exhibitor's stand staff, but the stand design can support it. Counter surfaces specified as non-porous and easily sanitised, single-use applicator storage built into the counter, and waste disposal access for staff are all design decisions that affect tester hygiene across multiple show days.
