1X Affiliates at Affiliate World Asia — 110 sqm Island Stand
The Brief
1X Affiliates — a performance marketing platform — needed a 110 sqm island stand at Affiliate World Asia in Bangkok. Affiliate World Asia is a high-density performance marketing show where stand visual impact is the primary tool for attracting the marketing professionals and media buyers who attend. At 110 sqm, this was among the larger island stands at the show. The brief called for a stand that read as dominant within the hall, with overhead brand presence through a hanging fascia and architectural mirror elements as a distinctive design feature.
The Constraint
Three elements created the complexity: rigging a hanging fascia at 110 sqm island scale, fabricating and installing mirror cut-out architectural panels, and coordinating both within the Affiliate World Asia move-in window. A hanging fascia at this scale requires substantial hang point allocation, load engineering and organiser submission — more involved than a single-company hang at a smaller footprint. The mirror cut-out panels — architectural elements where shapes are cut through a panel face to reveal a mirrored surface below, or where the cut edges themselves are mirrored — require precise fabrication so that the cut lines are clean, the mirror edges are protected from chipping during transport and the panels are fitted without the mirror surfaces being damaged during the rest of the build.
The Approach
The hanging fascia was designed as a large-format brand element carrying the 1X Affiliates identity at the height where it would be visible from across the hall, fabricated as a modular system to allow transport in sections and on-site assembly. The mirror cut-out panels were designed as the primary architectural feature on the main aisle face — clean geometric cuts that revealed the mirror backing and created a layered visual effect appropriate to a technology and media brand whose audience is visually sophisticated. The rest of the island — backlit walls, structured meeting and product zones — was designed to be consistent from all four aisle approaches.
The Build
Hang point allocation was confirmed with the venue before the build started. The fascia modules were fabricated, numbered and pre-fitted in the workshop. Mirror panels were individually wrapped for transport in protective packaging that prevented edge contact. On-site, rigging and the fascia were installed first. The structural stand followed. Mirror panels were brought in and fitted as the last element of the structural build, before graphics and furniture — protecting the mirror faces from other installation activity. The stand was complete within the show's move-in window.
