INFINOX at Money Expo Bangkok — 36 sqm Curved LED Stand
The Brief
INFINOX — a UK-based online trading and investment platform — needed a 36 sqm stand at Money Expo Bangkok, one of Thailand's highest-footfall consumer finance events. The show draws retail investors, traders and financial service buyers across a dense exhibition floor where most exhibitors compete through digital screens and branded colour. The brief called for a visually distinctive stand that stopped consumer traffic and communicated INFINOX's brand identity clearly in a competitive hall environment.
The Constraint
The defining element of the brief was a continuous curved LED strip as the primary fascia — a radius of LED running along the upper face of the stand's curved front, following the curvature of the stand's face rather than sitting on a flat surface. Standard LED flex strip bent around a radius without a correctly specified former will show cold spots at the bend where the LED pitch and the bend radius are incompatible. The INFINOX stand was dark — almost entirely black and dark grey — which meant any cold spot, LED gap or irregular patch in the light output would be immediately visible against the dark surface it illuminated. There was no ambient light contrast to absorb the error.
The Approach
The curved former for the LED fascia was CNC-routed to the exact radius of the stand's front face, with a channel profile that held the LED strip at the correct distance from the fascia surface and at the bend radius compatible with the strip pitch. The LED colour — INFINOX brand gold-yellow — was tested in the workshop against the dark fascia surface below to confirm the output matched the brand reference before the stand was transported. The curve carried through to the stand counter and the main face so the LED element read as an architectural gesture rather than a lighting strip applied to a rectilinear stand.
The Build
The curved former was pre-assembled with the LED strip fitted and tested in the workshop. On-site, curved structural elements were brought in as pre-built sections. LED connections were made at site and tested before the fascia surface panels were fitted over the structural frame. The dark surface required careful handling throughout the build to avoid fingerprints or surface marks that would be visible after the stand was complete. Final test of the LED output was done after all panels were in place and before the show opened.
