Kramer & Netgear at InfoComm Asia — 72 sqm AV Stand
The Brief
Kramer and Netgear — two AV and networking technology companies — shared a 72 sqm stand at InfoComm Asia in Bangkok. InfoComm Asia is attended by AV integrators, installation professionals and technology buyers who arrive with a detailed knowledge of professional AV quality and evaluate manufacturers partly through the standard of their own demo environment. The stand needed to display Kramer and Netgear products effectively for each brand within a shared footprint, and to read as a single, unified professional environment rather than two adjacent booths.
The Constraint
A co-exhibitor AV stand at a show attended by professional AV buyers requires a finish and integration standard that exceeds what would pass at a general trade show. Cables must be invisible. Screens must be mounted flush and level with the surrounding structure. Signal routing must be clean and terminations must be professional. A visible cable run, a slightly crooked screen face or a surface-mounted screen bracket at an AV show is a statement about the brand's production standards. Across 72 sqm with two brands and extensive AV content — multiple screens, demo stations, presentation positions — maintaining that standard through a compressed build-up window required every detail to be planned in advance, not resolved on-site.
The Approach
We designed the stand as two architecturally defined zones — one per brand — within a unified structural language so the stand read as a single environment when viewed from the aisle. All AV cabling was planned to run through the floor structure and internal channels, completely concealed. Screen mounting positions were fixed in the fabrication drawings at exact coordinates, so screen faces would be flush with the surrounding panel surface rather than surface-mounted. Every junction between materials — screen face to panel, panel to panel, trim to surface — was designed with a defined detail that would conceal any installation tolerance variation.
The Build
The structure was fabricated as numbered sections with screen mounting positions pre-installed before transport. On-site, structural sections were assembled and all cabling was run and terminated before the surface panels closed the structural cavities. AV systems were installed and commissioned, then both brands' content was loaded and tested before the show opened. The stand was confirmed complete and fully functional at the final check. No remedial work was needed on the finish.
