Radiant at In-Cosmetics Asia — 21 sqm Custom Stand
The Brief
Radiant — a beauty and cosmetics brand — needed a 21 sqm stand at In-Cosmetics Asia in Bangkok. In-Cosmetics Asia draws cosmetic chemists, formulation experts and R&D buyers who examine ingredient and brand suppliers at very close range over an extended time. At 21 sqm, every surface of the stand is within arm's reach of any visitor at any point. The stand needed to communicate the Radiant brand at the quality standard the show's audience expects and the beauty category demands.
The Constraint
The constraint on a small stand at In-Cosmetics Asia is not the size — it is finish quality at close-contact range. Buyers at this show spend significant time at stands they find relevant and evaluate at less than a metre. Any inconsistency in surface finish, any misaligned graphic, any visible joint between panel and graphic, any shadow on a surface that should be evenly lit — all of it is noticed. At 21 sqm there is no low-priority zone to absorb a weaker detail. Every face of the stand is simultaneously in close-contact range. The brief called for perfection at every detail level, with a zero-tolerance position on anything that would read as less than intentional.
The Approach
We designed the stand as a tight, precise composition — lacquered surfaces, a brand back wall with flush-fitted graphics, product display integrated into the structure rather than placed on it as an addition, and directional lighting serving the product positions rather than the general space. The entry and aisle-face layout was planned so that the first thing a buyer sees from the aisle approach is the primary product and the Radiant brand identity — not the stand's edge, the corner trim or any secondary element. Every junction was designed with either a shadow gap or a trim piece that concealed installation tolerance variation and read as a deliberate detail.
The Build
All painted and lacquered surfaces were completed in the workshop and transported with protective covering. Graphic skins were applied at the venue after the structure was confirmed level and square at every face. Installation proceeded at the pace required for close-tolerance finish work rather than at general exhibition build speed. A final check of every surface and junction was made before the show opened. No remedial work was needed.
